Dimsum and Tea

A couple of weekends ago, my sister and I decided to try out Panciteria China. We were just a little hungry and so we just ordered some dimsum and tea.

Chicken Feet, Siopao Asado, Fried Wanton, and Pork/Shrimp Siomai

They’re all really good, and we would like to go back again every now and then (^^,) The service was also good and the staff were friendly.

Flan Face

August 26, 2010

Sorry, but it’s a bit blurry. I am still posting it though to show off the Face XD

This is leche flan made by my sister. It’s her first time to make it but I think it already tasted perfect. It has just the right “thickness” so I love the texture, and I love eating it cold XD

Chocolate Mint Torte

Last Saturday, some friends and I went to wine and dine at Cafe 1771. More photos to follow but I am posting this ahead because I love it so much XD It’s Chocolate Mint Torte (^^,) We ordered it alongside two other desserts - one is pudding with frozen yogurt, and the other is creme brulee. They were all so good but there’s just two of us who shared most of this super good Chocolate Mint Torte XD

Grill Group

Very tender sirloin, salmon, and zucchini!

My sister flavored the beef, yakiniku style (^^,) It was so good! I hardly ate rice to make space for the beef XD

I went to Choto Stop last week and discovered this really delicious coffee jelly snack XD Let me take you through my wonderful Coffee Jelly Journey XD

It comes in this very convenient packaging.

Opening the door to delicious XD

The jelly is so firm and smells so good.

The cream that will be poured onto the jelly.

A mixture of goodness!

The cream flow into the hollow space created by my spoon.

It was so delicious! In a few minutes, my coffee jelly was just… gone.

Bento and Anime

Last Wednesday, we had our final exams in Nihongo class, after which the whole class ordered lunch from Yamazaki, and then we all ate together while watching some anime that our sensei brought for us. She also brought some homemade peach float, which was really good (^^,)

I ordered the beef yakiniku bento, while a classmate of mine got the teishoku with a huge serving of fish XD

Sanma in Coconut Milk

Last week, I had dinner at my sister’s place after working on a job she has for me. She cooked a couple of really good pork dishes, but the highlight of the meal was her sanma in coconut milk - it was SOOOOOO GOOD T.T I would love to have this again. It is really really really good. I like coconut milk dishes, but her mixture of this dish is like among the best I have ever tasted. It is so good it makes me dizzy XD

A Bit of Sushi

We went to Tong Yang for my mom’s birthday. I got my usual favorites for the shabu shabu (squid balls, tofu, various leafy vegetables, oysters, different kinds of mushrooms) and grill (chicken meat, eggplants, onions), and prepared my “marinading mixture” where I momentarily soak the stuff for grilling before I lay them out on sizzling butter. Prior to enjoying these, I always check out the sushi area if there are still any left (sushi runs out quickly). The last time we went, there were still a lot. They’re okay, just enough to satisfy one’s craving for that sushi taste and texture, though sometimes the rice layer is a bit dry. So I just took one of each kind I like just so I can have my sushi dose.

Roasted Chicken and Sanma

August 13, 2010

Last week, I went to my sister’s place to work on a sideline for her, and she cooked dinner for us. We had roast chicken (her roast chicken is one of BEST ROAST CHICKENS I have ever tasted) and roast sanma. She also prepared some fresh cucumber and arugula (^^,)

Teriyaki Beef Bowl

August 9, 2010

One of the big beef bowls in Tokyo Tokyo. I like the Teriyaki Beef Bowl; it has a mild spicy taste and the serving is quite big. The stickiness of the rice in their Shangri-la Mall branch is better than the one in Trinoma’s though. But they are both great. Will want to order this again next time. (^^,)

Ice Cream for Breakfast

One morning, I was craving for ice cream and tried out the Selecta Gold Series ice cream, in a cup, and I chose the Vanilla Almond flavor. Despite the ice cream having a “warm” or “thick” texture, it was delicious and I liked it (^^,)

Chirashi

On the last Monday of August, one of my classmates from Nihongo class treated us out to lunch because it was her birthday. We had lunch at Nihonbashi Tei and I ordered their chirashi. It was quite good, there is just too much rice. But the toppings were delicious.

Lone Lunch

August 6, 2010

About two Sundays ago, I was left home alone because everyone had errands to attend to. I did not feel like going out so I just stayed home and blogged and studied. I woke up late so all my meals were pushed back, and I had lunch around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Since I was lazy that day, I just decided to prepare a simple rice bowl, then brought it upstairs to eat while blogging/playing, I forgot which. This is just a layer of rice, topped with Japanese-style egg, topped with slices of meat (^^,) Oishikatta (^^,)
